The Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) is a public research university in Sweden known for its research and academic programs on information technology and sustainable development initiatives. Unique to the university are its postgraduate and doctorate degree programs in Strategic Sustainable Development. Meanwhile, some members of its research team are considered luminaries in their fields.

BTH is divided into two faculties—Computer Science and Engineering Sciences—and 10 educational areas of focus, which are largely tech-oriented. These include but are not limited to Software Development, Computer Science, Game Technique, Digital Media, and Industrial Economics and Engineering. It offers around 35 undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with the the most highly regarded ones being sustainability, software engineering, and the school’s other software- and IT-related courses.

Research in BTH is centered on 12 specific areas, such as Computer Science, Big Data and AI, Software Technology, Strategic Sustainable Development, and Systems Engineering.
