The University of Twente (UT) is a public technical university situated between Enschede and Hengelo in the Netherlands. The campus is a vast 140-hectare outstretch of water, meadows, woodlands, and estate. It was founded as Technische Hogeschool Twente in 1961 and was renamed to what it’s called today in 1986 due to the changes in the Dutch Academic Education Act in 1984. It is the third polytechnic institute to become a university in the Netherlands.
The university offers a wide range of degree programs from Psychology, Communication Science, Philosophy of Science, Technology, and Society, and Business Administration to Biomedical Technology, Engineering, and Applied Physics. For its Applied Sciences, the focus of the study is on Nanotechnology, Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Information and Communication Technology, and Process Technology.
UT also offers various master’s and bachelor’s degree programs on Information Technology, Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Technology, Business Studies and Public Policy, Social Sciences, and more.
